Researching stuttering treatments is really not very hard. So, by using scientific studies of treatment results, you can select effective therapy for stuttering. PubMed is one of the best search tools for online research and is provided free of cost by the National Institutes of Health at:

The problem lies in the reviewing process. For example, I just typed in “stuttering treatments” in the Google search bar. So, I found 1750 articles about stuttering treatments listed by publication date. How do you know which ones to read?
Probably the best way to search this database of many journals and articles is to enter something specific. For example, when “MPI Stuttering Treatment” is entered, the result is only three recent articles from three different journals. Click the link below to see the page in PubMed.
Click any title to be taken to the abstract of the study. The abstract summarizes the Purpose; Method; Results and Conclusion sections. Speech scientists peer-review the abstract before publication so it is accurate and truthful. Finally click below to see this most recent article abstract that compares several well effective stuttering treatments for teenagers and adults:
So by reading the abstracts of various articles about different stuttering treatments, you can get an objective, evidence-based, picture of how effective each stuttering treatment has been shown to be, using subjects in a controlled study. You will also be exposed to the variety of treatments available so you can decide which will be best for you.
